WHAT'S NEW:

April 15, 2009

At the 2009 Wine and Food in the Park Festival in Kingaroy, PCA was proud to unveil its new corporate mascot: a fully-restored 1934 KC30 Dodge truck, similar to the many farm trucks that hauled peanuts to the Kingaroy silos for so many years.

Amazingly PCA is only the old Dodge truck's real second owner. It was used on the Melbourne waterfront for many years before passing through the hands of several members of the original owner's family and ending up in NSW.

John MillerPCA's home-grown auto enthusiast IT Manager John Miller, (left), took delivery of the vehicle in February 2008 after being charged with the task of tracking down the right era and design vehicle.

After failing to locate an original vehicle locally, John turned to the Internet and eventually located the old Dodge in West Wyalong and negotiated the purchase.

The vehicle was trailered to Kingaroy and then over the next seven months was lovingly restored in the South Burnett by local experts.

A special mention must be made of Gary Sellick, (right), who carried out most of the restoration work, and Col O'Hanlon who rebuilt the water pump and steering box.

The pinstriping was done by hand by Brendon Leach from BL Custom Signs at Crawford.

Work was also done locally to improve the road safety of the vehicle to satisfy modern Workplace Health and Safety requirements.

The Dodge will be used to promote PCA's long heritage in the peanut industry at events throughout Queensland, including the Kingaroy Peanut Festival, agricultural shows and antique vehicle displays. So keep your eyes out!!
