All peanut growers are invited to attend the Tarong Energy Farmers' and Strong Man Breakfast which will kick off this year's PCA Kingaroy Peanut Festival on Saturday September 8.
The breakfast, which will feature peanut-themed items from local butchers and bakeries, will be held in a marquee at the Kingaroy Showgrounds from 9am.
There are two menu options: Light Breakfast $5 and a Full Breakfast $10.
Presentations will be made during the breakfast by Peanut Company of Australia Managing Director Bob Hansen, Tarong Energy CEO Dave Quinn and student doctors who have been undertaking health research in the South Burnett.
This year's Peanut Festival will feature a range of special events including junior and senior Strong Man games, the Guinness World Record Peanut Thresher Pull, displays by Australia's leading acrobatic troupe the Leaping Loonies, the Mascot Working Border Collies plus an aerobatic display by an RAAF Roulette.
There will also be stage entertainment, amusement rides, market stalls, helicopter joy flights and a licensed bar which opens at noon.
NB. Entry to this year's Peanut Festival area is $5 for all 18s and Over. A wristband will be issued at the gate which will enable visitors to come and go during the day and purchase alcohol. Farmers attending the breakfast do not have to pay this entry fee. Under 18s are free.
