The
2006 Australian Peanut Thresher Pull at the Kingaroy Peanut Festival attracted five teams competing in two categories, as well as the usual strong support of the crowd.
Team PCA, (
right), gave it their all but unfortunately were eliminated in the first round of the All-Comers Cup.
Freemans Estates pulled off against the
South Burnett Thrashers rugby union team in the final.
Freemans were confident following their win in the same competition last year however the Thrashers stretched them to the limit. Freemans eventually won by just 0.02 seconds!
In the Australian Title (Farmers' Cup), peanut growers who live north of Haly Street, Kingaroy, competed against growers from south of Kingaroy.
Three-time victors
South Burnett South were downed by last year's winners
South Burnett North. A special feature this year was a miraculous pull by a horde of local children,
(left), who were truly stunned when the massive Amadas thresher moved off the mark!
