The
2005 PCA Peanut Festival in Kingaroy promises to be bigger and better than ever with a huge street parade, market and food stalls, musicians and a special aerial display by one of the famous Roulette aircraft!
The Peanut Festival will be held on
Saturday September 10 in O'Neill Square, Kingaroy, and adjacent streets (including in front of PCA's silos).
There'll be a range of "nutty sports" taking place in the
Best and Less Peanut Olympics - including the nummy spit, M&M Smash (a big thank you to
Masterfoods!) and peanut chipping.
The
Telstra Countrywide Street Parade from 12.30pm to 1.30pm will feature everything from tractors to hot rods and will be timed to take place with the Roulette's acrobatic display.
There'll also be a display of historic cars and bikes and street machines in King Street as well as the
King Gee National Thresher Pull Championships, $1 amusement rides for children and free entry to the historic Kingaroy Museum.

Last year's Peanut Festival was huge because it coincided with the Centenary of Kingaroy. This year's event should prove to be just as successful because Kingaroy Shire Council has chosen this date to unveil its new
Art Gallery and
Visitor Information Centre located opposite PCA's silos in Haly Street.
Queensland aero clubs are also planning a
Fly-In in conjunction with the Peanut Festival with joyrides to be available at Kingaroy Airport as well as glider flights and tandem parachute jumps.
The Kingaroy Peanut Festival is proudly sponsored by
PCA,
Queensland Events Regional Development Program and
Telstra Countrywide.
