Well-known food identity and former South Burnett Regional Culinary Competition judge
Alison Alexander will be sharing her experience and commenting on the competition as compere.
There will also be short presentations from local South Burnett food producers between the cooking displays. The South Burnett cook-off always attracts a large audience to the PCA marquee keen to learn cooking tips from the experts.
The competition is open to chefs and apprentices and invitations to compete have been sent to fine food establishments throughout south-east Queensland.
Entrants will have 25 minutes to prepare two serves of a main dish matched with a South Burnett wine.
All dishes must use South Burnett produce and include PCA's Hi Oleic peanuts.
The judges will allocate points in relation to set criteria in a number of categories.
The Tarong Mine Wine & Food In The Park Festival will also feature live music and entertainment, displays by local cellar doors, and food stalls. Five-course meals will be served in a VIP Marquee Restaurant run by the Kingaroy Hotel-Motel.
